 How do I register to vote/register Green?

In order to vote in primary and general elections, District residents must register with the DC Board of Elections. Those already eligible to vote in Washington, DC can change their voter affiliation to Green online, by mail or in person at the Board's Office.

I want to get involved. When is the next meeting?

The DCSGP meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 P.M. at rotating locations. To view our full schedule of events, including the time, date and location of the next monthly meeting please check our regularly updated calendar.

What Ward do I live in?

If you live in the District, you are a resident of one of eight Council Wards. Each Ward (or district) is a geographical area used to elect members of the DC City Council. If you aren't sure which Ward you live in, can look up a specific address using our Reference Map.

How do I contact my City Council Member?

The DC City Council is comprised of thirteen Members: a representative elected from each of the eight wards and five members, including the Chairman, who are elected at-large. Each of their public contact information is available here.

Do District residents have representation in Congress?

No. In the United States House of Representatives, the District is represented by a delegate, who is not allowed to vote on the House floor but can vote on procedural matters and in Congressional Committees. DC residents have no representation in the United States Senate.

What is the Advisory Neighborhood Commission?

The Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) is a non-partisan, neighborhood body made up of 40 locally elected representatives called Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. They are a unique feature of the District's Home Rule Charter who serve two-year terms without pay. The ANCs were established to bring government closer to the people, and to bring the people closer to government.
